Cathy Barry received her BFA (Painting) from the University of Michigan and an MFA (Painting) from Eastern Michigan University. She currently teaches at Washtenaw Community College, the University of Michigan School of Art and Design and Chelsea Center for the Arts . Fresh flowers in the studio will be the inspiration for the beginning of this dynamic workshop, progressing on to faces and figures. Through a series of demonstrations and exercises geared towards students of all levels, you will learn to develope a natural and expressive approach to your painting. Discover new color and design, approach new subjects without fear, and hone your skills during this 4 day workshop offered by CCA and held at Chelsea's Comfort Village Inn & Conference Center. Knitting, Crocheting, and So Much More: Beginning Fibers

Learn how to chain stitch, crochet, cast on, knit, purl, bind off, finish, wrapping, and coil basketry. This is a beginning course exploring basic techniques in fiber art. Take home the skills you will need for completing items like jewelry, scarves or hats, as well as free form art pieces or soft sculpture. A Touch of Clay: Beginning Handbuilt Ceramics
