Artist-in-Residence: Jerzy Drozd, Cartoonist & Teaching Artist
The Artist-in-Residence program is a joint venture of the Chelsea District Library and the Chelsea Center for the Arts. In addition to instructional and consultative activities, the Artist-in-Residence enriches the local arts scene by his or her presence and offers workshops and other programming events. Kids Read Comics!
In partnership with the Chelsea District Library (CDL), with support from Friends of CDL, Kids Read Comics! is an amazing opportunity for the community to meet writers, artists and other creative talent from the world of comics and animation. Includes hands-on workshops such as: An Introduction to Cartooning, Character Design, Dynamic Storytelling, and How to Make a Mini-Comic. Midwest Literary Walk - April 21, 2012 - more details to come!
The Chelsea Center for the Arts and the Chelsea District Library are pleased to report that the 3rd annual Midwest Literary Walk in Downtown Chelsea was a resounding success! With the inspiration of M.L. Liebler, the program brought together many of America’s best-known, award-winning writers, poets, and local musicians including Scott Beal, Bonnie Jo Campbell, Laura Kasischke*, Jeff Kass, Zilka Joseph, ML Liebler*, Bonnie Rose Marcus and Keith Taylor. The event featured sample of readings and musical performances in intimate settings around downtown Chelsea including our friends at River Gallery. For more information please visit the new blog!

Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights
Sounds & Sights began in 2004 and features music and entertainment every Thursday evening throughout the summer in historic downtown Chelsea, Michigan. The series is the combined effort of the Sounds & Sights Committee, downtown merchants, Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Chelsea Center for the Arts, with the support of Sounds & Sights sponsors. Musical Montage Series
The Chelsea Center for the Arts and the Chelsea District Library are pleased to present the Musical Montage Series. This series is a collection of music-related lectures, punctuated with demonstrations and brief performances presented by CCA instructors Lester Castellana, and Director of Music Lisa Hinz-Johnson. Art Meets Business
Art Meets Business (AMB) is designed to help creative people master marketing,
money management, negotiating, the use of technology, and other skills
critical to their success. AMB members
have access to mentoring and coaching, networking opportunities, business

Culturality
